Primary interests
Dr. Loomis’s expertise is in the human dimensions of natural resource management. His primary research interests are in the areas of survey and experimental research methodology, the demographic component of recreation demand projections, the use and overuse of common property natural resources, visitor attitudes and motivations, and the general area of natural resource based outdoor recreation. His current research activities and interests include species-specific fisheries management as it relates to recreational anglers, perceptions of fairness and satisfaction resulting from resource allocation procedures and outcomes, state park visitor satisfaction, and socio-economic aspects of recreational fishing.
